Tube update: Barons Court

November 8, 2011

Another day, another entry. This morning I had to journey up to Hampstead today after staying the night at Toby’s. On previous occasions, I have walked to West Brompton, gone up to Edgware Road, changed train and gone one stop across to Baker Street, and then caught the Metropolitan Line to Finchley Road. Now, that was exhausting to write, and it is no easier to do in practice either; the District and Circle lines can be excruciatingly slow, especially in rush hour!

So this morning I went to Barons Court…

…caught the Piccadilly line to Green Park, walked through the labyrinthine tube station to the Jubilee platform and caught the train to Finchley Road. Although this comprises more stops, this is actually much quicker and I shall be doing it in future! And my first day of doing tours by myself at Hampstead went swimmingly! I have come home without a headache, which is an improvement on yesterday, and I am now eating dinner and watching Buffy. Good times. 🙂

Tube update: Notting Hill Gate and Finchley Road

November 7, 2011

Hello people! So today I have another two pictures to add to the collection: Notting Hill Gate, which is the closest tube station to my office, and Finchley Road, which is the closest tube station to one of the other school campuses.

The Notting Hill Gate station is all underground, so there’s not much to look at…

… and due to the fact that by 5pm, it’s dark, this is not the best picture of Finchley Road tube station either. But I did well to get it, considering that I had to practically stand in the middle of the road to get a decent shot of it!
